My ride for this week is a rather attractive metallic green Kawasaki Z750. The Z750 is a real looker and is incredibly easy to ride. In true Kawasaki tradition, the fuelling is absolutely spot on and the bike handles quite nicely. As a day-to-day ride with sporting pretentions, Kawasaki have got it just right. The brakes on the other hand are not up to scratch and take a bit of getting used to, particularly for us sports bike riders. They will bring you to a standstill in a reasonable distance but there’s no initial bite and a fair tug of the lever is required.
The engine spins freely and pulls cleanly from way down the rev range. Coupled with the aforementioned excellent fuelling the Z 750 is very nimble as a commuter. The 750 feels a bit limp wristed but that is deliberate according to Kawasaki making the bike easier to live with as an every day ride. If you want a hard-edged high performance naked, the Z1000 is designed specifically for that purpose. It is without doubt the sort of bike you could ride around on all day without feeling fatigued. We’ll bring you a full road test once I’ve clocked up a few more K’s and shown it some corners.
