Hello there, and welcome to this new, entirely free, totally green, and completely gorgeous digital “glossy” edition of Drive magazine – an old name to SA motoring enthusiasts with a whole new home, layout, platform, well just about everything really!

The title is now being published by a small team of professional journalists whose hearts belong to the motoring industry. Pilot, pro photographer, two-wheeled nutter and in a former life race team manager Steve Allison is joined by four-wheeled nutter, tech and motoring journo, and passion-peddler Russell Bennett in this labour of love, and is intended as an honest, refreshing, and in many ways old-school interpreation of the modern motoring magazine.

The magazine is really trying to get at an oft-overlooked core motoring enthusiast characteristic, unbridled passion. Sheer joy. Unfettered adrenaline. The romance of driving the way driving was always meant to be. We have the roads down here in SA, quite lightly policed ones at that if you know where to look. We’ve got the cars, and we’ve certainly got the Drive. So come on and take a journey with us, apart from some bandwidth, all of this juicy content is absolutely free free free, both in cash and harmful global emissions!
