Green is the new black – Lexus LF-Ch concept

If you’re a fan of a certain new recreational beverage containing kiff little ninjas, you’ll know that one X is not enough – it has to be XXX. Oh, 30 is also the new 20, and green is the new black. As such it’s no surprise that just about every manufacturer in the universe will have some form of carbon-cutting ‘green’ vehicle on display, each trying their damnedest to upstage the other with a vast array of ‘green’ technology and cutting-edge, car-show-only exterior designs.
The upcoming Lexus LF-Ch certainly caught my eye in the run-up to Frankfurt, the car being another automotive masterpiece, aesthetically speaking, of course. The fact that it’s a full hybrid with electric-only driving capabilities simply add to its allure – imagine zooming past other cars in a sizzling premium compact in dead silence. It’s the stuff sci-fi dreams are made of!
Really, just look at that silhouette, the space-age taillight clusters, subtle roof spoiler, air intakes and seriously chromed wheels… Now, if only Toyota and some other Japanese manufacturers will take notice and realize that earth-friendly cars need not look like a block of clay that’s been exposed to severe winds from the front.
Sure, many of these striking design elements might not make the final cut should the LF-Ch make the production line, but considering what Lexus has done in recent years, odds are it won’t be too diluted when it does hit showroom floors. For now however, we can dream. If the future looks like this, then green is indeed the new black.
