Aprilia RSV4 Factory

Aprilia RSV4 Factory

This weeks’ ride is an Aprilia RSV4 Factory and I have been waiting in anticipation for this bike. It really is the most focused sports bike I have ridden in recent months, or years come to that. Every time you stop it takes 3 or 4 attempts to find neutral when you stop. The gearbox feels as though it’s made from rusty nails and makes a huge clunk when you drop it into first. The engine gets hot enough to kick the fan in even after a brief stop. It runs hot all the time in traffic even when you are moving. The pegs are set right back, nice and high up. There is almost no throttle free play. But I don’t care that’s what race bikes are like and this bike is so close to a race bike for the road. The power delivery is like a Ducati 1098 on steroids. It has huge torque and power is available right through the rev range. The there’s the noise, oh what a sound. Even with the standard Euro emission friendly standard pipe, people are going to know you’re coming. It looks just like Max Biaggi’s race bike as well. I am really looking forward to spending time with the RSV4, I wonder if my wife will let me park it in the lounge.
